A few months back I saw this craft idea on MarthStewart.com. You can turn any glass bottle into a gorgeous colored vases. I loved the idea and have been looking for bottles to use ever since. I scored a ton of adorable bottles for just a few dollars at my local Goodwill store. I picked up some dishwasher-safe enamel paint at a local craft store as well as a few more bottles.. After washing out all the bottles you just pour a small amount of surface conditioner inside each bottle to prime the glass. Just swirl it around to coat the bottle and pour out any extra. You then let it dry upright for an hour. Mine sat for a few hours...
After the conditioner is dry you do the same process with the enamel paint. I used a bright white color and one called Calypso Sky. I also mixed the colors together to get some shades in between the two. This time you dry it upside down on a paper towel for 48 hours. You will need to wipe the rims of the bottles with a damp paper towel during the first hour or so to make sure it does not build up.
Here are my bottles before and after. Don't they look gorgeous?? I'm going to use them on my summer mantle.. stay tuned.
