goodwill chair

This past weekend I found this chair at Goodwill. The guy told me it had been for sale for all of 5 minutes when I scooped it up. I guess it was just meant to be...

As soon as I took it out of my car I just had to get to work on it. I already had the perfect paint and fabric after all..

I took the seat off and sprayed the chair with Kilz and a couple light coats of Rustoleum's Heirloom White. Here it is after a little distressing.

The day before I purchased some tan linen fabric that I knew would be perfect for the seat! I actually covered it with some sturdy white fabric first so it would have a good base. Then put the linen right on top!

This was such an easy makeover! And the total cost was under $20!!

do you ever?

Do you ever see a picture and it just strikes something in you? Makes you want to change your whole house around this one picture? Yesterday I found this... and now want to change up my guest room.

weekend finds

Happy Monday, hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I went to Goodwill to drop off everything I didn't sell at last weekends yard sale and came home with a few treasures of my own.

This old chair is just crying for a makeover. I had to get started as soon as I got home. I just love it! A little heirloom white and some linen on the seat and it'll have a whole new life!

This tray is in desperate need for a makeover. I saw it and immediately thought of Janell's painted tray. I have the perfect pale gray paint for it.

Lastly I found this basket. I have no idea what to do with it but it has that rustic farmhouse feel that is everywhere these days so I just had to have it!

I was busy finishing up a bunch of projects this weekend that I can't wait to share with you all later this week!

loving: gray bathrooms

I have a slight obsession with gray bathrooms. Half of the bathrooms in my house are some shade of gray.. and now I'm deciding what color to paint my half bath and all I want is more gray!

Here are a few looks I'm loving...

the tale of a well traveled chandelier

Last winter I found this amazing chandelier while I was in Atlanta. I left the store with out it and could not stop thinking about it. I knew I had to have it. So I went back...

I decided not to ship it home and just let it make its way up to me knowing my aunt would be driving up the following month. Well it traveled the east coast for the past six months, but it's finally home!

Here she is. I bought her at Southern Comforts in Dunwoody, GA for around $70. Can you believe it? She still had her original tags and I knew it was just the look I'm going for in my dining room. The grayish green patina is amazing.

friday finds: philly

I thought for this week's edition of Friday finds I'd show you all a few things I've been keeping my eye on in my area!

First up is this adorable buffet. I love these vintage looking pieces. I might have to go for it myself! And who could resist at only $80??

How cute is this china cabinet? I love the shape of the windows! And an absolute steal for only $60.

Love, love, love this nightstand! Seriously so cute. After a little white paint and some new knobs it would be perfect for my guest bedroom! Would you believe it's only $20??

How about this coffee table? Doesn't it have a ton of potential? You could do so much with it! And it's only $30!!

How about this fantastic vintage dresser? I love how big it is and that it still has the mirror! Seriously gorgeous! Especially for only $75!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We're prepping for our first yard sale. Wish me luck!
