Karen over at My Desert Cottage is having a blog party today! It's all about bloggers showing off where they create. I'm so happy to share my little room, which as come to be known as the craft room.

It started out as an empty room with only a sink in it. I knew right away it would be the perfect room for me! I started out by putting in some diy cabinets from Lowes...

For my desk area I got a basic kitchen table from Walmart that I painted white.. It also has an adorable window seat!

I just had to add one of my favorite Coco Chanel quotes....

friday finds: Raleigh

This week's friday finds all have one thing in common, they're tables! I found some amazing tables while looking through the Craigslist listings for Raleigh, NC.


First up is this vintage pedestal table. I love the base on it. A fantastic find at only $100!

I just love this rustic end table. I think I would strip off the old paint and then repaint the legs and just seal the top with a little polyurethane. I love that rustic farmhouse look. And it's only $58!

Okay so this one is not really a table, but close enough. I just fell in love with this vintage vanity! It's in great condition and would look amazing painted with a glass knob. And who could pass it up when it's only $65?

This country style table and chairs is seriously an amazing find for $35. It has a bit of a country feel right now but could easily be repainted to give it more of a rustic look.

This pedestal table  looks great and it's only $35! The top is a little too shiny for my liking but it could easily be stained a darker shade and finished in more of satin rather than gloss.

Last up is this fantastic library table. I love these pieces when used as desks! The Queen Anne legs and cut out details have more of a classic style but after a little paint it would be a perfect shabby chic piece. And would you believe it's only $40?

signs of summer

I just love the "shower" sign I made a few months back.. so I decided to make a one for the summer!

I had a 2 foot piece of wood in my garage so I painted it with a gorgeous aqua colored mistint paint I got a while back for $1! I then painted the word "beach" along with an arrow. Lastly I sanded the whole thing down to give it a vintage feel. What do you think?

friday finds: Las Vegas

This week we're heading to Las Vegas! I have to say there were some odd finds this week. I think I could do a whole post on the funny things I came across. I did manage to find some good stuff though.

First up is this adorable pedestal table. It looks like it's already been refinished which is a plus if you don't want to do it yourself. And for only $150 why bother?

With everyone doing diy upholstered headboards there is a huge need for a basic bed frame. Would you believe it is $15?

Love, love, love this bench. It's huge! Wouldn't it be so chic in an entryway covered in pillows? And the best part? It's only $75!

This darling little stool is seriously adorable. Wouldn't it be so cute painted in a chippy pale pink in a little girls room? And.. it's $5! Amazing find.

This mirror has some serious potential. I love the little shelf. It would be so cute in a small entryway! I'd of course paint this one white... And you can't beat the price of only $30!
