I'm on a roll!

I finished painting my powder room this weekend! Crossing one more off my 2011 list! I chose Benjamin Moore's Gray Owl for the walls and Dutch Boy's Brilliant White for the trim. I also replaced the light fixture. The old one came with the house and was terrible. I can't believe how much bigger the space looks now! Here it is:

The walls are definitely grayer in person, there's not much light in this part of the house so it's hard to get a good picture.

I scored this fabulous light fixture at the Restoration Hardware outlet last week for less than $25! I love the milk glass look it has!

a little makeover

Last week, while working on my kitchen island I decided it was time to paint the powder room cabinets too! I mean, I had everything out! I have long been wanting to paint these cherry cabinets black. I still have bigger plans for the room but this is definitely a start!

Here is what it looked like when we bought the place... almost 2 years ago!

Here it is after I painted the walls in Eddie Bauer's "Pine Needle" I also replaced those terrible brass knobs with bronze ones from Lowes.

And here are the newly painted cabinets! Seriously so much better, and so easy! I'll post a tutorial soon.
