new life for an old shutter

A few weeks back I found this old shutter at a local antique mall. I had the perfect use for it...

I started out by sanding off the old paint and giving it a few light coats of Heirloom White. I then sanded it down with a power sander to give it a very distressed look. Lastly, I drilled a hole under each of the three squares and screwed in a glass knob.

All it needed to finish it up were two d rings on the back so I could hang it right by my front door...

Ahh, the perfect set of hooks to hang the dogs leash, coats, etc on!

  2. That is perfection. I absolutely love all of your choices with this piece and it turned out so. I don't think you're a "future" domestic goddess...you're there. Well, can you bake? :)
