upholstered corkboard

I've been wanting to make a new corkboard for my office... I love the upholstered looking ones and thought I'd try something a little different.

I started out with one of these basic frame less cork boards that I picked up at AC Moore.

I then covered the whole thing with a piece of tan linen I had. Attaching it with a staple gun just like you would with seat cushions. Super easy.

Then after it was all covered I decided to use a vintage picture of the Eiffel Tower I found online. (I have no idea where I found it so email if you'd like it) I printed it onto some iron-on transfer paper (in reverse of course) and simply ironed it onto the cork board. What do you think?

I'm thrilled with how it came out. I might just have to make some more for my etsy store!

  2. So cute. I would have never thought of doing that. The iron on design is a great addition.
