bench makeover

My mom ordered this adorable bench from a local unpainted furniture store to go with this vanity I recently painted for her.

Here it is.. as plain as you can get.

If you're painting unfinished furniture it's really important to prime it first. The bare wood will soak up a ton of paint. I started out by doing a good coat of gray primer.

Then painted it with the same Glidden black paint I used on the vanity. And then sealed it with a spray polyacrylic. After it was dry I put screwed the top back on and here it is!

  2. Good tip on priming! So often we want to skip that all important step. It came out great!

  3. I looks great. I love how the black contrasts against the fabric on the seat cover.
