new life for an old table

I found this fantastic oak pedestal table on my local Craigslist a few months back. I had hoped to use it for my dad's kitchen makeover, but it's a tad too big. Oh well. This sturdy piece is in great shape it just needed a little love.

I started out by sanding the top down a bit to get some of the scratches out. After a little Kilz, it looks like a whole new table!

I went to my go to white, Glidden's Antique White for that shabby look I love. After the two coats of paint and one coat of polyacrylic to protect it, here's the final result! I only wish I had room for it myself!

  1. Looks great! I wonder if that is a chair behind the table on the first pic. Great job!

  6. Oh, I'm jealous - I'm actually looking for something similar myself. I found a round table at Goodwill a couple weeks ago and was disappointed to find it wasn't real wood. :(

  8. That is so gorg! I am looking for one myself - you wouldn't be happening to CL it, since you "don't have room"? Keep up the great blog - I think you may be my design soulmate!
