With yard sale season beginning I thought I'd show you how easy it is to spruce up a yard sale find. This vintage lamp actually belongs to my aunt, who thought it would great in an oil rubbed bronze color.
Since it is two different finishes I started out by using a basic gray primer on it to even out the finish. A few coats of Rustoleum's Dark Bronze Metallic spray paint and it has a whole new life!
Looks great! I might have to copy that! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMust be a lamp makeover movement going on! I've been thinking about doing this for my cheapo lamps rather than throwing them out and another blog i read centsational girl did a lamp makeover today too! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteNice! I also spraypainted a lamp to give it a new life of its own (I posted a photo on my blog: http://lifeblessons.blogspot.com/2009/12/diy-decorating-trick-to-stylish-lamp.html). Isn't spraypaint one of the best inventions?!
ReplyDeleteNice! I love the final product, spray paint is a miracle-worker. Just stopping by from DIY day!
ReplyDeleteI think that's the 1st time I've seen pics of that spray paint color - what a great shade! Your lamp is just lovely now... thanks for sharing at the POPP.
