I've been dreaming recently about replacing my own pantry door with one of these vintage looking ones. I don't know if I prefer the screen ones or the chalkboard best. What do you think?
I was thinking the same thing as your commenter above. And this is totally coming from a home with a dog and a cat: if theyre "bad enough" they could scratch or claw through the screen. On the other hand, I think I prefer the screen b/c it looks light and airy. But thats just my two cents.:) Sarah
On another note, where can you buy those glass bottles in the last picture? I would love to have a pantry that organized but can never seem to find appropriate glass jars!
Love love love the chalkboard doors! It would also be a great way keep track of things you may need at to pick up or maybe even a weekly menu planning spot!
I was going to say similar things to all of the other comments... Coach will not last 5 seconds with a screen door keeping him from snacks when you turn your back... or tiny tots when you have kids!
I've been wanting to change my panty door for some time, too. I wanted a chalk board one, but know that I've seen the screened doors, I want one of those too!! Love your blog...so glad I found you!
I want to make some kind of renovation in the kitchen and I want to change the old door to a new pantry doors, because I'm inspired by this blog. Keep it up!
If you go for a screen door you will have to make sure to keep your pantry neat at ALL times. Since that is hard for everyone, I would go chalk board!

I've got all of these same pictures saved to my computer too. I want to get one for my pantry. I love the screen door the best. So pretty and cottagy.

I think you should use the vintage frame for the door and put in chalkboard rather than screen- the best of both worlds!

ReplyDeleteGreat point about the pets Sarah. My cat has been known to go through a screen door. Especially if there is food on the other side of it!
